You might want to try this for your menu tonight.
‘Pain surprise’ as the French call it, is traditionally brought out on festive occasions such as New Year’s Eve, a party, or even a wedding, and is an appetizer before a main meal, or part of a cold buffet.
It’s basically a layering of thin sandwiches one on top of another, each layer having a different filling, the whole tower of sandwiches is then cut from its crust (often in a circle). Layers have quite fine fillings such as finely crushed walnuts and cheese, or smoked salmon.
Have fun tonight, HAPPY NEW YEAR to all!

Interesting! 🙂
That sounds like a good way to prepare an appetizer for a party – I’ll have to try it out some time.
